What Finding Your True Purpose Can Feel Like
From Dream to Reality - and how coaching led to finding purpose
One of the things I love most about entrepreneurship is the end-to-end product development process.
There’s something really exciting about creating something from scratch; it going from a mere idea to a conversation, to a sketch, to a concept to a sample, to a pilot, to a brand, to a website to a live launch and finally real sales and reviews.
Bringing something to life from nothing is really rewarding and you always feel a great sense of achievement - whether the product is successful or not, long term. That warm and fuzzy feeling of holding the finished sample or approving the final brand or website and of course getting that very first sale definitely takes some beating.
I kind of miss it - it is a far cry from my e-commerce days, when I was pretty much launching a new product or brand every few months. From a car jump starter kit to toy drones to men’s grooming products to pet products to even premium smart home tech, it really got my creative juices flowing and my enterprising spirit tingling.
But recently, I have to say, I have gotten a similar rewarding feeling, vicariously, by seeing one of my clients Fouzia Usman blossom and develop her purpose project from a mere seed of an idea - which actually came to her in a dream - to build out all the components over the past few months and go on to actually have two successful live launch in-person events!
After months and months of hard work, her company Muslim Nation Builders was born and already has customers signed up!
It’s such a great idea, too - an Islamic maktab (holistic supplementary school) with a difference, to revolutionise the way Islamic education is taught to our children. The right education is the key to elevating the Ummah so it’s something very near and dear to my heart and very, very aligned with my own mission, too.
