Want to know an underrated secret to success?
THINK BIG.
Bigger than you ever thought possible.
So big it excites you… and even scares you a little.
Unfortunately today, Muslims are punching way way way below our weight.
There’s almost two billion of us, for God’s sake.
It’s not for a lack of talent or lack of numbers. It’s the fact we are disorganised, divided and focused only on our own issues.
We often lack vision, ingenuity and belief.
Perhaps the second and third-order effects of colonisation.
We think as far as the eye can see. Mostly material success.
”I want a Ferrari bro. I want a nice house with a pool. I want to holiday in Dubai twice a year. I want to be able to do Umrah regularly.”
I’ve heard this stuff word for word from our community.
Sometimes it’s a bit more noble.
“I want to help my parents to retire. I want to be the first in my family to escape poverty. I want my children to have the best private education. I want to do hijrah and live abroad to escape fitnah.”
That’s still all me-centric.
Think bigger, beyond your own immediate self and family.
At my company KNOW, we’ve tried to adopt this principle.
Why do we have such a big aim in wanting to bring about a Second Golden Age of Islam where Muslims are leading the way once again?
Simple. It's one of our core beliefs as a company!
Our belief is even deeper rooted in that we believe this is actually prophecy, not a pipe dream.
So we work with full conviction that this WILL come about and our effort is to contribute and work towards this grand vision.
Allah is the source of all power after all - all we can do is have big intentions and work diligently towards it, without being attached to its outcome.
Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended." Bukhari
If that's the case, why not have the BIGGEST intentions?
Ultimately, success is written - and as Muslims, we believe that no effort is wasted.
So why not aim for greatness and have a huge impact, instead of playing small?
It's energising. It's exciting. It's fulfilling.
We need to elevate, uplift and upskill urgently.
Too many generations have been wasted, colonised, confused and controlled.
It’s time to break free, so we can become who God truly intended us to be.
What could you achieve, with Allah’s help, if you only dared to dream bigger?
