The building of human character comes BEFORE the building of anything else.
When the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they built the Great Wall of China.
They thought no one can climb it due to its height and were confident of being safe, protected and that peace would continue for the long term.
However, despite this, during the first 100 years of its existence, they were invaded THREE times!
Each time, the hordes of enemy infantry got through easily.
But somehow, the Great Wall was never breached.
How did they get in, then?
The reason they had no need of penetrating or climbing over the Great Wall…was because each time they had simply bribed the guards and swaggered through nonchalantly through the doors.
The Chinese built the wall but forgot the character-building of the guards.
This is the importance of proper education.
Proper education is something that truly TRANSFORMS you - spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
How do you build a formidable human being that has integrity, purpose and faith?
How do you build a heart that is sound and a mind that is sharp? And most importantly, a soul that is sincere?
You design an education process that produces exactly this.
The Makkah stage of the Sahaba's development was hostile and difficult. But it was the making of them. It built their character and resilience so they could go on to build amazing institutions and infrastructure.
You can never build Madinah without enduring Makkah first. Metaphorically and literally.
Makkah is purpose. Madinah is potential.
